Medipost Holdings welcomes new head of Human Resources
Bulelwa Mamabolo appointed Medipost Group HR manager
Tuesday, 15 November 2022, A seasoned Human Resources professional, Bulelwa Mamabolo, has been appointed as the Group HR Manager of Medipost Holdings effective 1 November 2022, Group Chief Executive Officer Noel Guliwe announced today.
“We are very pleased to confirm that Bulelwa Mamabolo, who has a strong background in her field within the broader healthcare industry, has joined us in this key strategic position to lead the human resources functions within our Group, encompassing Medipost Pharmacy, MediLogistics, Kawari Wholesaler and Distributor and the Medi Training Academy,” Guliwe says.
“Bulelwa has already hit the ground running, and we welcome her fresh perspective and the enthusiasm with which she is embracing the role. We are certain our clients and colleagues will feel the benefit of her experience and expertise reflected throughout our operations in the months and years ahead.”
Mamabolo holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Honours in Psychology and a National Diploma in Human Resource Management, and as a keen advocate of lifelong learning, she has continued to expand her horizons with postgraduate courses, the most recent of which is a management and executive coaching course completed through the University of Cape Town earlier this year.
She joins Medipost Holdings from Signa Group Shared Services, where she served as Group HR Manager since 2018. Mamabolo has gained experience in different facets of healthcare and the pharmaceutical industry, including as HR Manager for Imperial Centurion, and fixed contracts at Adcock Ingram (Aeroton) and the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) Health Consortium.
Mamabolo moved through the ranks quickly after joining RTT Medical (now Imperial) in 2006. Prior to this, as a young professional she cut her teeth in human resources first within the South African Revenue Service (SARS) between 2001 and 2004, and then at Airlink airline until 2006.
“I am thankful for the warm welcome I’ve received, so I am enjoying getting to know my colleagues and this new environment. I have been in HR for quite some time in various industries and businesses, and I am always learning more in each context, and so I am excited about becoming more familiar with Medipost Holdings’ unique situation,” Mamabolo says.
The Medipost Group’s structure includes an in-house supply and distribution service, Kawari Wholesalers, which obtains medicines directly from pharmaceutical manufacturers, while MediLogistics transports the medicines to Medipost Pharmacy in accordance with the principles of Good Pharmacy Practice. Once the medicines have been dispensed, MediLogistics transports the patient-ready parcels to medicine collection points and directly to patients, completing the continuum of care.
“Human resources is a journey, not a destination, and with my psychology background, I believe in developing and driving the HR strategy by building motivation for employees through walking this journey with them. In the right environment, people will thrive,” she says.
“Human resources is crucial for the sustainability of any organisation, and I look forward to making a positive contribution to the Medipost Holdings Group of companies,” Mamabolo concludes.
